Technical Support Engineer (Japanese market)

Appier Inc., Taipei Taiwan

• Assist worldwide partner companies to integrate Appier's multi-platform SDK into their product and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Provide solutions to boost conversion rate and create better user experience with Appier SDK based on my domain knowledge of mobile(android, iOS) and web development and UIUX design.
• Share knowledge of app development across the team and continuously develop and enhance personal and team capabilities.

April 2020 - Current

Fullstack Engineer

Marcopolos Inc., Tokyo Japan

• Developed and maintained a stock trading app service of our parent company, OneTapBUY Co., Ltd., with a total of 130k users and an average 40k DAU.
• Led an offshore team of 6 developers/QAs in Chengdu, China to delivered 2 new apps and new functionalities of the broker platform, resulting in a 96% increase in user registration and a 40% increase in profit within 10 months.
• By analyzing the company's profit model which heavily relys on stock trading transaction fee (about 72%), introduced and implemented a monthly subscription business model.
• Refined UI/UX and resolved 10 most occurred bugs of our Android apps, increasing the bug free rate from 97% to 99.2% and reduced 10% of the customer inquiries.
• Designed website UI prototypes, translated documents and instructions between Japanese and Chinese, performed code review and unit tests.

April 2017 - January 2019

Game Programmer

GeePlus Inc., Tokyo Japan

• Developed and maintained a 7-year-old mobile web game on Gree platform, with an 100k DAU.
• Created new game features in a 30-people team.
• Created python automation scripts, saved up to 80% preparation time for monthly regular game events updates.

November 2014 - March 2017

Lead Game artist

Bonio Inc., Taipei Taiwan

• Participated in as one of the startup members of Bonio Inc., founded by my research advisor, Prof. Yeh Ping-Cheng in 2014. The main service of the company, PagamO, is an online web game aims to fill the urban-rural gap in k-12 education. By using technical innovation and essenes of gamification, the game had become one of the official remedial teaching material of K-12 recommended by The Ministry of Education (Taiwan) in 2017, and currently used by 500 ,000 students and 3,000 schools worldwide.
• Supervised 2 new game artists to design new game UI and assets for the team.
• Created new game features to gamify the learning process.
• Designed company's visual identity, such as company logo, name card, official website UI, etc.

Interests

Apart from being a software developer, I enjoy most of my time drawing digital arts and watching Japanese mangas and animations. I'm fond of the fascinating visual impact the artists can create with just one simple pencil.

Aiming to develop my own indie game in the near future, I'm also spending my spare time in learning game programing and 3d modeling/rendering, etc.
